Sophia intrepidly seeks some friendly likeminded people to share convivial pleasantries to alleviate her loneliness, and places a personal add in the local newsagent's window. To her surprise these people exist. After being introduced they eventually form a club and become amateur mourners as a sort of service to humanity. Alice leaves her husband for a successful funeral director with "insider information" about the best wakes to attend. As time goes on they become aware of veiled, funereal woman following them. Just who is the mysterious, mute in black they keep encountering? They are soon to be shocked to discover that "she" is none other than Alice's husband Brian. And Emily is in for a shocking surprise herself at a stranger's wake. Or is it a stranger's?
