My family experienced a lot of grief, with the sudden deaths of young children. Our hearts were broken. Somehow, we found what heals a broken heart.
My childhood was infused with hard work, tradition, and family connection. It was a rugged, often dangerous life. I loved it, and so did my family. Now when I look back on it, I long for those days.
Come visit us in a place in time where community, connection, and love was held in high regard. We even valued disagreement and differing opinions. Come join us at our table. We want to hear what you have to say.
We lived on a dead-end, dirt road, in the middle of nowhere. We cut our own wood for the wood stove. We butchered our own meat and grew our own vegetables and fruit.

People might say we were living off the power grid. I'm not sure I agree. I guess it depends on how you define grid. And it depends on how you define power.
