Great pics and ideas

I picked up a junk market magazine at a second hand book store, loved it, and was then introduced to the "junk sisters". I looked at stores for more books they may have but did not succeed. So, I searched the internet and found this one and I love reading it and I get new ideas everytime I thumb through it. Definitely a must have for "fellow 'junk' treasure hunters!"

It Should Be Called "Evironmental Design"

A delightful book with a number of unusual ideas.Sue and Ki, the two flea market friends, travel the U.S.A. pointing out their favorite spots to shop across the land. With maps and helpful suggestions on where to eat,you join the journey. I admit some of the ideas did seem "far out" for most of us; but it is fun to see what they create,or strive to,out of the abundance of old treasures and junk. Some of the items-the pictures 4 by 6 mounted on a wood drying frame, made me realize, that I could do that.Others such as the attractive towel rack & toliet tank selves in a bathroom, seemed a good way to recyle on this planet.I also enjoyed the uses of an old screen door.(In the not so long ago sixties, people put them up in their house,to protect new babies and Toddler's from pets coming in to visit.)Some pages have included instuctions to DIY. A clever guide and what you need to take to the best U.S. Flea Markets. p.s.Sue and Ki have recently started a bi-monthly magazine currently on the market. It has the May-June Issue. It should prove interesting to see the new ideas. There are very few ad verdisments, which make it worthwhile.I am looking forward to the Autumn and Christmas issues. These gals keep the ideas rolling.

great book

I purchase a lot of these types of books for inspiration. I can honestly say this was one of my favorites. Great ideas, fun to read. If you are like me with an old house full of odds and ends, you will truly be inspired.

Gem of a book on Junk!

JunkMarket Style is a great book for decorators. recyclers, antique enthusiasts, flea market junkies,do-it-yourselfers,college students, domestic divas, loft dwellers, country collectors,minimalists....and just about anyone who yearns for a little individualism in the nest of their choice. The photographs are fabulous. Even if you are not drawn to the specific "junk" pieces being featured, the rooms they adorn are so cleverly assigned that you can page through the book again and again getting ideas for walls, table arrangements, window treatments, paint colors and so much more. The recipes for the do it yourself projects are clear, even for those of us less handy. There were several projects that caught my eye, and are on my "to-do" list. The rolling log stools, the mailbox shoe rack, and the three chair bench, top my list of projects. I plan to give this book to friends and am recommending it to anyone I think might appreciate it. Ki Nassauer and Sue Whitney have put together quite an inspirational book, especially for those with a touch of whimsy in their hearts. I'm looking at Junk a lot differently these days, this book will inspire you to do the same. Happy Junking!
