Decolonialism has been a new field of study for some time now. As a founder of the subject, I felt that I needed to write this book to establish Decolonialism in theory and practice. I have expressed Decolonialism in much of my previous work, academic and otherwise. But in many ways, Decolonialism has asserted itself out there as a new field of study, and in that sense it has deemed it necessary to write a book on something that I have already established as such. Decolonialism differs completely from postcolonialism. Whereas postcolonialism is either a futile critique of the coloniser by a subject who is constantly in a state of feeling sorry for themselves, or a lame revertion to a previous type of colonisation, Decolonialism is a reconstruction of one's real identity by repairing the damage caused by the coloniser's impositions and resurrecting self-belief in one's own identity. This book is the theory and practice of Decolonialism.
