Two weeks before Miyamoto Musashi died, he gave away his possessions. Then he wrote twenty-one lines about how to live.

He called it the Dokkodo, the Way of Walking Alone. It was the last thing he ever wrote, finished days before his death, by the greatest swordsman who ever lived: a man who fought more than sixty duels and never lost one.
