In this book, which is based on LIVING FROM SUFFICIENT GRACE, my main thrust is on declarations although in each session I included some scriptures and a prayer. Although you are at liberty to read the book quietly, I strongly recommended that you also sometimes read out loud the scriptures, the declarations and the prayers. By reading out loud I don't necessarily mean shouting at your maximum volume, although you are at liberty to do so. The book can be used for meditations or even devotionals. You can use it with your family and friends. You can use it in your office or in the classroom or anywhere else as the Holy Spirit leads you.I am not restricting you to my recommendations; use it in any other way as the Holy Spirit leads you. My prayer is that you use the book as frequently as possible. You don't have to be in a hurry to conquer it. Take time to reflect on these things and study from the scriptures about these things. As you use this book may the Good News soak into your mind; may the seeds of the Good News be planted in you and germinate to produce fruit that remains. May you experience these things for the glory of God. The bible says that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21). This is the scripture onto which the main objective of this book is anchored. What we say can either cause death or life. By speaking in line with the Good News we produce life. We cause our lives to take the direction of the Good News. Instead of talking about how great the circumstances we are in are we talk to our circumstances about how great our God is. We talk about Christ and our status in Him. We highlight the promises of God. For us to speak this way we have to see ourselves in that way. We have to see ourselves according to what the Word of God says about us. We are not defined by our circumstances but by what the Word of God says. We need to continue seeing ourselves in the light of His Word in spite of what we are going through. We must not allow ourselves to change the way we see ourselves because of what we are going through. We have to remain envisioning who we are and whose we are in spite of circumstances. This is why declarations are very important. Apart from releasing power they are a form of meditation through which we renew our minds. This is one way through which we get to see who we are and whose we are; we get to see ourselves in the light of the promises of God. We then become what we see. When we take time to frequently focus on the Word of God we end up having our inner eyes open and we see things in accordance with the the Word of God or the promises of God for us.It's like Abraham who continued to see himself as father of many nations even though his child of promise came when he was almost one hundred years old; his wife, Sarah, was about ninety years old. He continued to believe against all odds that God, who raises the dead, would surely fulfill his promise. He didn't waver or stagger at the promise of God but he soldiered on; the promise eventually came to pass. During the years he was waiting for the manifestation of the promise, he continued to call himself father of many nations, against all odds. I am not saying that you have to wait and declare until you are one hundred years old before you see the declarations coming to pass. Abraham is just one of the radical examples given in the bible to show that whatever God promised you will come to pass. What's important is for you not to waver or stagger at the promise. Keep on standing there and declaring it. Making such declarations isn't a one time thing. It has to be a lifestyle. It has to be part of you. This book is meant to help you to get on this journey of always speaking in accordance with what God says and not what the situation says. Our minds naturally resist the truth since it's not based on sensual perception. That's why renewal of the mind using the Word of God is essential
