Deathling Library

By: Delliom Ellidom

Deathling Library is a collection of two novellas, a novelette, and short stories that take place all within the same world: a world filled with deathlings, those who sit at the side of people and animals who would otherwise die alone.

Tea Minus Death:

She cheated death-but it's a spark of romance that may save her life.

Working as a reaper, Penny has collected the final breaths of many individuals who would otherwise die alone. Her awakening had come at a cost, and Penny has since pondered her own morality. On the day she is meant to die, she instead takes a life-and meets the reaper who would have collected her breath, the reaper who may just give Penny a reason to live.

Deathly Brewed:

Before work each day, Connie enters a local cafe known as Deathly Brewed. Little does she know it's run by fellow deathlings-individuals who sit vigil for those who would otherwise die alone.

Noel, a barista at Deathly Brewed, cannot help but take notice of the new regular. His social anxiety frequently stills his tongue. Yet when she enters one morning looking rather despondent, he decides to take action.

Together, the pair find healing from external and internal stressors. And during this journey, they learn they have more in common, enough where something may just develop between them.

Death with Kismet:

A cat known as Kismet has been adopted by a deathling after living on the street. Even still, he enjoys his nightly walks with Death. Yet on these walks, he meets not only another cat in trouble but a new deathling who may just threaten the life he loves. The life, that is, of his deathling human.
