Deathbed Promises

I often hear the expression, 'Time has been considerate to so and so - just look how good they look for their age, ' etc. etc. I'm here to tell you that time does not have regard for anyone or anything. Minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months, pass. They come and go as one merges into the next and then, suddenly, as in the blink of an eye it seems, we realize entire decades have passed. Time has flown by and we never knew it until it was gone. By the time we realize what happened, it's too late. Those precious minutes will never come again. We were so busy with life that we forgot to live. We let time just slip right on past us. Before we know what has hit us, an entire lifetime has come and gone. Suddenly, we're nearing the end of our course and have not accomplished what we hoped to accomplish. All those grand plans we had as children and young adults has been pushed to the back-burner so long that the flame died down to an ember....
