Great Series!

This is a great series that will have you scrambling to read the next. It has great character development and it's an easy read. After I read the first three, I gave them to my mother-in-law to read. She called me about a week later hoping that I had the next one....she just couldn't wait until morning when the library opened. I also read and loved the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. If you love Evanovich, you'll love Dianne Day's Fremont Jones series too!

This is a series not to be missed.

DEATH TRAIN TO BOSTON is the 5th in the series that began with "The Strange Files of Fremont Jones." With every new book in the series I'm more impressed with her ability as a writer. The plots are complex, the characters are full, the rhythm of the book is captivating. This time Fremont's involved with a fanatic religious "family." This brings up the question of Mormonism. I'm a little sorry that Mormonism was more made fun of than necessary when the people in this book were "breakaways" from Mormon. But that's not my battle to fight. Just know that this is an exciting mystery, a compelling thriller, and a continuing love story. Don't miss it!

An old foe returns

This is another excellent entry in the Fremont Jones series, and it branches out from its usual San Francisco Bay area. Now we are in the state of Utah, and there are some very interesting scenes set in the household of an unusual offshoot of the Mormon religion. Fremont is fairly passive through most of the book, and the action is carried by Michael and Meiling, which is quite a change of pace. There is a mystery, of sorts, but it appears to be rather hastily concluded, and in a somewhat simplistic manner, but the book is generally well-written and it kept my interest.

Great Read!

I disagree with the other reviewer. I like this book as much as the others. The one thing that I really love about these mystries is that Ms. Day keeps you on your toes! The author is full of surprises. AND THAT IS WHY I READ MYSTRIES! You don't know what to expect in each book. In this one, you get a much deeper understanding of Michael and their relationship. Yes, they do love each other very much. In between, Michael's search for Fremont and Fremont trying to get to Michael, there is a very good mystery involving that train. That Ms. Day doesn't forget about. This book too is crammed with loads of "Stuff", that makes a really good mystery. You Go Ms. Day, keep us on our toes. Come on next installment! I can hardly wait.

A wonderful addition to a fascinating series.

Fremont and Michael are separated for most of this book as a explosion on the train has them both injured and not knowing where the other is.Fremont has been "rescued" by a Mormon fanatic who wishes to make her his sixth wife as none of the other five have produced offspring. Of course, in his patriarchal logic this can only be the women's fault. As Michael searches for Fremont and she tries to find a way of escape, the reader gets to know the five wives very well as each of them is written with the skill to make them very distinct individuals.Even as they are about to be reunited, the person who attempted to kill them on the train is still on their trail. This is a wonderful and exciting tale that will be eagerly devoured by the many Fremont Jones fans.
