This is an interesting compilation of information regarding Death Row across the USofA. The publication is set up tabloid-style... I'm not sure if that was a deliberate move, but it made the reading of the material a little easier to take in. Lots of stats and facts. Lots of tid-bits sprinkled throughout the book. This isn't a scholarly work, nor does it attempt to be. It's a compilation of data. The best part of the book is the half-dozen or so profiles. They give in-depth looks into the crimes and the criminals. Though the book purports to be neither for nor against capital punishment, it definitely has a pro-capital punishment slant. This is a great choice for the true crime buff, or those actively involved in the capital punishment issue (either side will benefit from this). Macabre reading at its strangest.
A perfect book for anyone interested in the death penalty

Death Row is a frightening look into a world that many of us try to deny. Its detailed accounts of the true terrors of our world and race left me in a state of shock and grief. And yet I couldn't resist picking it back up. It is truly a morbidly fascinating read, and the reality of its content is guaranteed to give you an emotional stir whether you are for or against the death penalty. The book gives detailed case profiles and a listing of every inmate on the Row as well as information and histories on almost every aspect of capital punishment. In a non-biased presentation of the issues-at-hand, Death Row is a chilling compendium of our nation's worst criminals -- and their victims.
