It is a cold and wintry Sunday night in Oklahoma City and Connie Crashaw, Ph.D. is in her office at Harding University, working feverishly to meet a scheduling deadline arbitrarily set by the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. The Dean is arrogant and demanding with those who serve under him, and Connie has felt his wrath before when she failed to meet his rigid requirements. She plans to have her schedule in his office by his set hour of 7:00 a.m. the next day.As she takes a break from her work to get a cup of coffee, she isn't surprised to hear an argument going on in the Dean's office. Dean Stafford has managed to alienate and infuriate many of the faculty who serve under him, along with some unlucky students.
