A man struggles to save his family from being totally eliminated and expunged from all records as decreed by the Emperor of Japan in the late 1800s. His only choice is to flee. He fights his way down the Sea of Japan and disappears with his wife and daughter. His sons continue to the Philippines but are forced to leave. They turn to America, only to find most doors closed to them. Their travels and encounters take them to the southern border of California, where they become successful famers, but become embroiled with illegal Japanese immigrants, and the Japanese Navy.
