I lost my son, Dhruv, to suicide on 14 February 2025. He was twenty years old.
Dhruv was not just my son. He was my best friend and my favourite person in the world. I thought he would be my comrade for life.
But that Friday evening changed everything. It shook the very ground beneath my feet and challenged my beliefs, my faith, and my understanding of life and love. I did not think I would make it through the year, so I wrote-I wrote to keep myself going, to hold on to Dhruv, and to keep his memory alive for all who loved him.
And somewhere, in a quiet, hopeful corner of my heart, I wrote believing that perhaps he could still feel my love - more than ever before, more than ever after.
For anyone who has ever loved deeply, I hope these poems resonate and that, in sharing my journey, I can offer a sense of connection, comfort, and quiet understanding.
