Money is not the most important thing in life Maja Steinert receives the news in Germany that her ex-husband Heiko has been murdered by ivory smugglers in Tanzania. She travels to the African country with her children to take over the legacy. There she experiences a bitter disappointment. The great windfall she had hoped for and always wished for does not materialise. Even from her former parents-in-law she does not receive any of Heiko's inheritance. All her over-ambitious plans for a life of luxury are shattered and she seeks revenge. Arne, her 22-year-old son, gets to know and love a completely different world. Eventually, he too is drawn into the illegal ivory smuggling business, to which several people have already fallen victim, by Maja's devious machinations.
