Dear Jesus Journal: Broken Chains

My name is Cheri Agape. I am who I am by the grace of God. I will be what I will be by the grace of God. All the stories contained in this journal are true stories from my life. They are all my testimonies, but they are not all about one man. I learned from Domestic Violence shelters that there is a cycle that has to be broken to be free from returning to the same demons. It's like generational curses. The word of God says in Luke 11:24-26:

"When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.'
And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order.

Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first." (NASB).

It's a known fact that when someone who is abusive leaves and returns, they return more violently than they left. Over time, the abuse becomes more severe and unfortunately many do not survive that final attack. Many counselors and psychologists recognize the patterns and behaviors of abuse to predict outcomes, but they miss God. When we turn to the word of God, we will find that there is a real spiritual battle. Through my own journey I had to take responsibility for my own part in that battle so that I could win the war.

You can't throw punches with demons and win

If you leave a violent man and let him return, his demons become stronger because of what you allow to grow that is ungodly. Later, if you do not see the demons coming, you will meet a new person and find that you connect with demons that have taken 7 worse than the last to come into your house. You must study your enemy to know how to overcome the devil. You must create a battle plan for victory in Jesus.

The battle is spiritual, not carnal.
