Letters from Helen Keller's Relatives, is a collection of letters written to my Uncle, David Keller, over a period of six years. He was involved in a search for the origin of the Keller name. He knew that Helen Keller was one of his relatives. He didn't realize at the time that she was only one of many famous relatives. David corresponded with dozens of people, including several organizations like the DAR, The American Foundation for the Blind, and many libraries. He even encountered a Contessa in Italy. All this research added up to over 500 letters. David gave me all his letters, charts and sketches when he decided not to continue with his genealogy research. He wanted me to pick up where he left off. When I first got the letters my goal was to keep up the research, but once I started reading the letters I became enthralled by the stories. The letters recounted stories of the Civil War, The Revolutionary War, prisoners of war, cemeteries, marriages and untimely deaths. There was also plenty of gossip. People poured their hearts out about their families, their spats with relatives, their travels and special interests. My Uncle David was also an artist, and he painted pictures of a lot of the relatives, and gave them away. He also painted military airplanes and donated them to several organizations. This book contains much of his artwork. If you like history, family stories, gossip and reading other people's mail, then this book is for you.I have another book that was published recently called "Please Remove My Mother". It's about a woman's visits to her therapist. Coming soon - "Why Grow Up."This is my newest book and it is about what happens when you interview children.
