Fictional glimpse into a real (and fightening) world

While the story is sometimes a bit much, this fictional account gives an interesting look into what keeps animal health authorities awake at night. I sent a copy to my mother who has never quite understood what I do. Now I have to convince her not to worry about the fictional villains. The risk to our country of either intentional or accidental introduction of a foreign animal disease is frightening enough. The fact that we are still scrambling to get ready for such an event is even more of a worry. Both come through loud and clear in this book.
