Awesome Book!

I got this book from my local library. I read an earlier book of his, Without Sin, years ago. It was great, especially, the surprise ending. But, when I read Dead Ringer, I was so captivated, I could not put it down. I kept rooting for the lead character, Scott Corbin. The action was non-stop. And, the ending near-bout floored me; I never saw it coming! True, it has gory parts, after all, it IS about a serial killer. Don't pass this book up. I am now trying to find other titles by Mr. Smithdeal. I would definitely like to read all of his other novels. His characters are one-hundred percent believable.

Smithdeal's first novel, WITHOUT SIN, was riveting, filled with memorable characters, unexpected twists and turns, and the ending was absolutely unpredictable. Well, he's done it again with DEAD RINGER. The author sets up a unique situation(never before done to my knowledge, and with a plausible medical explanation later), then involves his well-drawn characters(and reader) in realistic events that homicide detectives and profilers(well researched and accurately portrayed) face anytime they are confronted with the dark world of serial killers. The ending is entirely logical and deeply satisfying but you'll never guess it in advance. CHARLES SMITHDEAL HAS JOINED JOHN GRISHAM ON MY "MUST READ" LIST. Bring on the next one, Doc!! Take note, Spielberg!! These are thrilling stories that cry out to be filmed.

Fantastic Book

This book is tremendous. If you enjoyed Red Dragon by Thomas Harris or Silence of The Lambs, you will love this one. I have read Smithdeal's "Without Sin" but this one is even better. I can hardly wait for his next novel. He certainly is an up and coming writer.This one has a cruel side but fits right in with some of the gruesome things that have happened lately with serial killers. It is spell binding until the last. Please don't read the last chapter first and ruin the suspense.

Dead Ringer...Better Than Silence Of The Lambs

Charles Smithdeal has done it again! I thought his last book (Without Sin) was so good he was probably going to be a "one-hit wonder", but apparently this guy really has the gift!!!This serial-killer mystery is a definite page turner that I just COULD NOT PUT DOWN! I was so into it, I was sneak-reading it at work!!! I have to give him my HIGHEST recommendation! Do yourself a favor and buy this book and his other one too! You WILL NOT regret it!!!
