In London and beyond, handlers are pushed beyond safe limits - physically, psychologically, and morally. Authority tightens its grip, demanding certainty where none exists. As obedience deepens, cracks begin to appear: in the chain of command, in the handlers themselves, and in the fragile belief that the dead can be controlled without cost.

The war no longer asks whether the undead can be used. It assumes they must be.
