Dead Coeds, a 'dime novel, ' continues the early years of homicide detective Joseph Barszcz, JB, to his friends. The decade is the 1950s. JB is faced with a series of murders. A body found by the roadside by a young boy launches JB into a narcotics smuggling case involving his old nemesis, the New London GBees. His new wife, Audrey, is the manager of a shade tobacco farm in the Connecticut Valley. Friction between her Puerto Rican workers and the neighboring farm's Jamaicans results in murder. Revenge is always the answer. The most challenging of the decade is the murders of two coeds at UConn. He thinks the case is solved when it takes an unexpected turn. On the upside, JB is promoted to Lieutenant.
