ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

"Whether he improvised a pantomime or a short theatrical scene, it was irresistible. It was like a flame." -Luis Bu?uel

Federico Garc?a Lorca is one of the most famous poets and playwrights in literature, and his work has been widely represented, read, edited and studied since he was assassinated in 1936. Less well known, however, are his public speeches. And therein lies the first fruits of this book, which brings together for the first time all his lectures and radio speeches: texts written to be read in theaters or as a tribute to one of his poet friends. The ensemble not only reveals his aesthetic and social concerns, but also brings us closer to a direct and uninhibited Lorca, who seems to still be speaking to us out loud.

FEDERICO GARC?A LORCA was born in Fuente Vaqueros (Granada) in 1898 and was shot in 1936. His poetry, translated into countless languages, travels through landscapes, delves into traditions and denounces injustices, and his masterful books continue to be read without regard to the passage of time or the whims of what's fashionable.
