"De Ordaliis" est opus eruditum quod naturam, historiam, et usum iudiciorum Dei, vulgo ordalia dictorum, penitus investigat. Hoc volumen, a doctore theologiae conscriptum, fundamenta theologica et iuridica horum rituum antiquorum explorat, quibus veritas per experimenta physica-sicut per ignem, aquam, vel duellum-inquirebatur.

Scriptum praesertim ad usum studiosorum iuris canonici et historiae ecclesiasticae, hic textus explicat quomodo ecclesia his usibus interfuerit et quomodo tandem eos reprobaverit. Per analysim fontium historicorum, auctor rationes post haec iudicia patefacit, nexus inter fidem religiosam et processum iudicialem in Europa medievali illustrans. Est fons pretiosus pro eis qui evolutionem iustitiae et legum religiosarum intellegere cupiunt. In hoc opere, lector inveniet discussionem subtilem de transitu a iudiciis archaicis ad systemata legalia rationaliora.
