An introduction to DC and AC electricity covering series, parallel and series parallel circuits, Parrett's text is accessible to students with little mathematical background. The book's descriptions... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book would seem to be aimed at the beginning student of electricity/electronics. The level of mathematics required is a mastery of algebra and some trigonometry, no calculus knowledge is required although the author does use (effectively I think) calculus concepts in a few places. There are many problems with answers to the even numbered problems. This book would be particularly good for a person who is trying to learn this subject without the benefit of a formal class because it explains in great detail and as I mentioned provides many problems with solutions. Caveat! I have not delved deeply enough into the book to have a sense of how many errors there are in the problems and their solutions. This is often a rather serious problem with textbooks. The "textbook binding" is a very cheap sort. Overall this is a good book and a good buy. Ralph J. Pledger, Ph.D.
