Vineyard, Jr., grew up in Georgia and spent 20 years in the United States Marine Corps stationed in North Carolina and Virginia before moving back to the Blue Ridge mountains in Georgia. A constant feature of his life is spending time in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or just enjoying nature's bounty and the opportunities for introspection and reflection. The essays are casual in tone and have been previously published in magazines and newspapers throughout the Southeast.
