Turn On, Tune In, Drop Dead... Summer, 1970 The Weezles, a fabulously successful (and totally manufactured) pop group, have invited two hundred rock & roll VIPs on a cruise to the Caribbean aboard a... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is, frankly, a mess and should be recycled to redeem the paper. I've read Ms. Kennealy-Morrison's book about Jim Morrison, and a couple of her fantasy/sci-fi novels, and was surprised to find that she'd begun to write rock & roll murder mysteries. So I picked up 'Daydream Bereaver' (being a long-time Monkees fan) and sat down to read. I was very, VERY disappointed in this book. I skimmed through it first, and was surprised to see 300-plus pages. Rather long, for the mystery genre. I began with Chapter 1, and barely made it through. Her alter ego, Rennie Stride, was not likable. Her backstory was told in pages and pages, and contradictory. She was described as married, then engaged, then married. I made it through the first two chapters, with interminable details of the cruise ship, AND lots of typos, and, frankly, boring. I am being totally honest, trying to spare someone else the waste of time.
