Throughout the background to this ultimate crusade-looms the impending danger of the return of an ancient orbiting, Earth-devastating comet, the "Heart Stone"-from which only the hero and his ancient mystics, the "Masters of the Dew", can provide salvation. The stories making up this novel gradually unwind-tantalizing readers' beliefs in history, science, societal mores and myth-ultimately beguiling them to think more deeply about fact vs. myth, in realization with human existence and the various dimensions of time.
