But for those who are adopted especially during the days of the secret adoption even that is veiled in a shroud of mystery. Dawn on the Northern Plains is a fictionalized account of a birth family search. Set during the period of the American war in Vietnam it reflects the travails and emotions of those seeking their true life stories including their entry into the human family.
