Roddy's desire is to be ruler of all mankind, which is also the goal of Ra, Kronos, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Oden, and more than a few other Nephilim, all of whom believe the imperative would hinder the fulfilment of their ambitions. When the king rejects the imperative and forbids anyone from seeking to establish a new settlement, to avert divine retribution, Jubal must convince him otherwise or personally take on the task. Failure is not considered an option but choosing, right or wrong, is an option for every human being.
