Fantastic book

As a Montessori teacher, this book is a wonderful research tool for our students. It is almost as if it were written by a fellow Montessorian for the timeline of man. It is sadly out of date in the sense that there have been many recent discoveries, but this book captures the big picture better than most recent books do. I was sadly disappointed with the Smithsonian Intimate Guide to Human origins for this reason. It has interesting updates in the scientific areas, but is not terribly accessible to children. The Dawn of Man is a book you could turn your students loose with and they would enjoy reading at the Elementary level. There are fantastic illustrations as well.
