A story of a young country boy

Being raised in northern Michigan until 5 or 6, then in 1950s in northern AZ, on a ranch and Grand Canyon back in late 1950s, I read a book called Davey. Loving the woods and adventure myself, I really liked this book. Now at 74 I do not remember all the details. I'm sure this is the same book. Hope the price comes down.
