Davey hated the first two months of sixth grade, including morning after morning with his primary teacher, Miss McIntire. She sat at her desk all but a fraction of class time, often eating candy bars while her students completed worksheet after dreaded worksheet. Science should have been a bright spot for Davey, who was fascinated by astronomy. Unfortunately, it was taught by "Lazy Lawrence," who Davey judged knew as much about science as a walnut.
