Realisticly researched, steeped in culture, mystery, romance

I am somewhat inclined to be positive as I did the original edit. I couldn't put down the manuscript and I read it straight through. The detailed research of the time-period, of China's forced opening to British trade, and the neatly woven anti-cultural romance made for an exceptional literary ride.
