Kicking it with Big D

This book has a lot to offer a reader because it has a lot of inside material and it has a beautiful looking design as well. When you open the first page, for example, you have what seems to be fire damage from where someone tried to burn the book. As you read about it you find out when that was, and the effect of this is a great one. There are also other places where you have drops of blood that are random enough not to seem machine pressed, pictures that have a drawn feeling to them, and little pictures that are held in in a multitude of ways. In some places you have a paperclip that seems to be holding something, in others you have a piece of take collecting a picture, and in other places you have a staple or another device collecting some historic picture or phrase. Alongside this is the advertisement selection that remarks on specific books and sundries, stick-on notes that have little things written on them, and so many other aesthetic props to make the read more amusing. and the book itself reads well, although the read is not a long one. The book is a small book, almost pocket-sized, and the wear and tear look on it makes me think that it is supposed to actually be the diary it claims. The first section of the book deals with prehistory - from the bible to "the evil commandments" and beyond, and this made for some good reading. This leads off into designs that are infernally inspired, some trapping that are not exactly divine in origin, and entries that have an evil quality to them. When all of this comes together you have a book that makes for a few days of good reading, and a reference book to turn to if you want to have some fun and want to look up certain odd inventions with questionable origins. If this sounds interesting, it really is. you could buy it because of the looks or because of the material aspects of the book. It has a lot of mock history in it that is combined with realism, and you get a good feel from it because the writer did their homework. When I bought it and saw its size I was not thrilled, but reading it and looking through the prop-like nature of the read make me forget any complaints i had. Certainly worth the price.

amusing

The book design and layout is just beautiful, well thought out and artistic. The book itself was not bad. I enjoyed it, but didn't like it quite as much as I had hoped I would. I would recommend Death: A Life instead. I had just finished that book and was looking for something similar. Don't get me wrong, this book is worth reading, I just had slightly higher expectations.
