Riveting

Patrick is back after losing his job after his last reporter snafu. He's going to counseling still trying to deal with his mother's past abuse & old habits are rearing their ugly head. He's struggling to decipher what is real an what is not when he sees his dead girlfriend of 15 years ago on TV under a different name as missing and possibly murdered along with her doctor husband. A downward spiral of shock and grief has Patrick questioning his past along with setting out to investigate and try and find MaryBeth/Charlene. The past rears its ugly head as Patrick obsessively tries to hang on to his sanity while someone is attempting to kill him. Kaufman delves deep into Patrick's psyche and weaves an engrossing psychological story with many twists and turns. Enjoyable read
