Through an accident of nature and alien technology Geoffrey Holder is beamed aboard the leviathan alien spacecraft the QvO. The ship is manned by descendants of people originally captured from Earth by the RAP empire and taken back to their planet to be bred as slaves. Through insurrection the Earth slaves rose against their masters and subsumed their empire. The QvO had been lurking, using the moon as a shield against detection. Its mission to study Earth and to record its entertainment channels and day to day news, to rebroadcast to their own peoples at a later date. The QvO traverses space using Dark Matter Transit (DMT) which exploits the different physcis of Dark Matter. The crew of the QvO are not empowered to return Geoffrey to Earth because they are not yet ready to disclose their presence to the peoples of Earth. Thus, Geoffrey opts to become a member of the crew of the QvO, he travels with them, to experience many encounters with strange alien species throughout the galxies. But, biiological races are not alone in space, because there is also a race of AIs who live by logical law which directly conflicts with the democratic principles of the biological races. Eventually, these differences lead to an all out space war between the biological species of space and race of AIs which also threatens the existence of the planet Earth.
