Moved by the sheer desperation and the clear violation of innocent life, Syn, with Wulfric's silent assent, pledges their aid without coin, setting them on a perilous path. Their journey begins with escorting the grandfather back to his ravaged village, a grim reminder of Malakarn's cruelty. From there, Wulfric and Syn follow the unmistakable trail of dead grass left by the demons, a path leading them towards the dreaded Skull Mountain range. This formidable, circular wall of ice and stone encircles the infamous Valley of Death, a land warped by ancient magic and teeming with mutated horrors. As Wulfric navigates the treacherous ascent, battling fanged, unnatural beasts, he prepares for the greater evils that await within Malakarn's castle, knowing that the descent into the Valley of Death itself will be a trial of their strength and resolve. Upon entering the Valley of Death, Wulfric endures freezing winds and relentless attacks from mutated creatures as they press towards Malakarn's dark fortress. With Syn's potent magic clearing their path, they breach the castle's defenses and engage in a brutal, no-holds-barred battle against the ten demons. Wulfric's star-metal blade, glowing with protective runes, carves through the demonic ranks while Syn's fiery magic obliterates their foes. Finally, Wulfric faces Malakarn himself. Protected by Syn's counter-spells, Wulfric closes the distance, his enchanted sword finding its mark and ending the sorcerer's reign of terror. They rescue the terrified but unharmed girl, escort her back to her grateful grandfather, and then, as always, return to the familiar shadows of Sim's Place, awaiting the next dark tide that calls for their unique brand of justice.
