My Fears Are Real

DARING DEVOTION by Elaine Overton is the connecting book to Lover's Inferno. We return once again to Firehouse Fifteen where we find firefighter Calvin Brown, known to those who love and admire him as "Big Cal." On what should be one of the happiest days of his life, we find him watching the love of his life social worker, Andrea Chenault. He ponders if she has fears about their future, as he does. Fears he cannot put a name to or a finger on. Andrea, who is the apple of his eye, has fears of her own. Making wedding plans does nothing to expel the fears of Big Cal or Andrea. A lack of communication between them has tension running as high as the fires are burning. The question becomes will they live with their fears and each other, or live without each other, keeping their fears a secret. Overton does an amazing job dealing with the day-to-day lives of firefighters, the tears they face daily; whether the cause is a fire, family member, self-doubt, or other fire fighters. This story is about two people who love each other but both are dealing with demons that could destroy their relationship. When it looks like those demons will destroy their love, they open up to one another about their demons and love conquers all. Great story that will have you crying tears of sorry but they turn to tears of joy by the end of the story.
