In a modern world inhabited by fantasy creatures, Danica Shade is just a girl trying to get by, have a little fun, and play a few video games. She also happens to be a Dark Elf who was a member of an ultra-secret government counter-terrorist unit. When her former C.O. shows up with news that her long-time partner was killed in action trying to retrieve a stolen artifact of immense power from a multi-billion dollar corporation bent on world domination, Danica, against her better judgement, takes the job, if only to make sure his widow receives the benefits she deserves.
