This is a short, surprise book born out of the cosmos, from a dangerously absurd place. The title is inspired by Isabel Wilkerson's The Warmth of Other Suns. The poems in this book are about the author's home state of Oklahoma and about love, her temporary home, Guatemala, and about relationship and community politics. They are about the perception of indigeneity that she carries with her and about empathy. They tell stories about love and growth. This book plays with length, with language, with spiritual ideation, and with timelines. Najah hopes this book finds people of color, women, and writers all over the world. She hopes especially that it finds those who give a lot of thought to the physical place they belong.
