To say I liked Dangerous Music by Jack Teeter is an understatement. Mr. Teeter has shown a remarkable skill in bringing his characters to life and investing his readers with a very real stake in the outcome of the story. The reader becomes much more than an outsider looking in; he sees himself as part of the story, able to interact with the characters and to laugh and cry with them. I look forward to more from this very talented author.
Teeter Hits a Home Run with Dangerous Music

Jack Teeter, in his first published book, hits a homer. Everyone has a dream, but what if your dream could destroy you? This is the "what if" theme that draws the reader into the book. Once there, though, it's the characters that keep you from putting it down. Sonny Jacobs, ex-baseball coach and his wife Jenny are drawn so real you can picture them at your kitchen table recounting tales from their day-to-day lives. But this is no ordinary story, and the events that follow the medical breakthrough that changes Sonny's life involve the reader in an incredible life or death dilemma. It is truly inspiring to watch this couple's marriage as it is tested by overwhelming circumstances and then to see them fight back with mutual strength, love, and their unique East Tennessee panache. A really good story to talk over with your loved one.

The story line of the book captivates the reader. Jack Teeter does an excellent job of allowing the reader to become intimately familiar with the characters, it's as if you know them. The fact that it parallels the authors own personal life makes the story line even more effective. A well written book and an awesome story line!
Dangerous Music

Sonny Jacobs had successful surgery for throat cancer. However, the doctors warned him that in years to come, it is possible that he might have some problems from nerve damage. The worse did happen and Sonny started to experience severe pain in his neck and shoulders. Nothing seemed to help the pain. Sonny learned about a new treatment that might help him. It involved an implant that would be placed in his spine at vertebrae C-2 that would help relieve his pain. Sonny was a musician. He discovered that upping the amperage on his device had an extraordinary effect on his guitar playing. It didn't take Sonny long to realize there was a problem in doing this because it affected his health in another way. What does Sonny do? This is a compelling book to read. Be sure to set some time aside because once you start reading this book you will find it hard to stop. This is an interesting story with well-developed characters. Jack Teeter has done an excellent job of describing the characters. The reader will feel like they know each one personally. The author has also done a wonderful job of making the reader feel all the emotions that Sonny and his wife were going through. You will feel like you are right there experiencing the pain along with them. What really makes this book so interesting is the fact that it parallels Jack Teeter's own life so much. In this book, the author has shown us that he is a very talented writer and we hope to see more books from him in the future.
