Dancing with Dan: A Brother's-Best-Friend Romance of an Isolated Cottage and a Cop

By D E Bartley

A contemporary small-town romance about a young woman who buys a remote cottage in search of independence, then calls her brother's best friend, a local police officer, when the quiet begins to feel unsafe. Sweet and steamy, with protective longing and a close family to answer to.

She Wanted Independence. She Found Him Instead.

Lily Johnson is the baby of her family, and her two big brothers and Pops have never let her forget it. All she wants is to stretch her wings and live her own life in Alabama, so when a cottage comes up for sale in the middle of nowhere, she jumps at the chance. But with the peace and quiet comes isolation, and Lily soon learns there's a reason the cottage stood empty. When she starts to feel unsafe, there's only one person she can call: her brother's best friend, local police officer Dan Watkins.

Dan has always looked at his best friend's sister as family. Seeing Lily scared stirs up something new, and he's determined that no one will put her in harm's way and get away with it. The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to pretend there's nothing between them.

Falling for each other was the easy part. Telling her brothers is another matter entirely.

Dancing With Dan is the second book in the Lakeside Ranch series, a small-town contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone, for readers who love brother's-best-friend tension, protective heroes, instalove heat and tight-knit family. Perfect for fans of Lucy Score, Tessa Bailey and Penny Reid.
