Dancing to a Different Tune Robert was the third of ten children born in 1897 to itinerant Scottish Farm Servants, Sandy and Jean Corsar. He had a harsh nomadic childhood as his family moved from one farm to another every six or twelve months. The family were poor. Robert would do light jobs around the farm to earn extra money. His working life started when he was only three years old. In his teens, the family moved to the town of Montrose. There, he saw young men enjoying themselves and having fun. He wished for some of that. The preeminent annual social event in Montrose was the Black Watch Summer Ball. The entrance fee was money Robert could not afford. Rob's successful plan to gain free entry to the Ball would have consequences he could never have imagined.
