Cinderella Again

I have always had a problem with the Cinderella story. My question -- why her? There would have to be lots of other good-hearted, downtrodden girls in that city, sitting in dirty places wishing for a better life. Why was this one girl picked to marry the prince? Connie's book helped me answer that question -- and helped me understand why I am allowed to accept the gifts God has for me. The answer is that God has a Cinderella story for everybody, He's not just picking one cinder-girl to send to the ball and leaving all of the others to sit and cry by the fireplace. Our God-prince is large enough to go around and so we are not taking away the gifts from someone else when we accept what He has for us -- we are allowed to take the gift and enjoy it - to turn it down, just because we think maybe we shouldn't have it - well, that is just silly, isn't it? Before reading Connie's book, I was actually afraid of God's gifts - what if it was a mistake? What if I don't really deserve it? What if He realizes His mistake pretty soon and takes away the gift after all? How nice it was to realize that these questions were suddenly gone from the worry-box in my head, leaving only a sweet place in my heart to feel and know God's presence, comfort, and love. Thanks for telling your story, Connie!

The real Cinderella story

We are raised with the notion that we will find our one true prince and live happily ever ever but wonder what has happened when we find ourself covered in ashes ("cinder"-ella) and alone. Don't settle for waiting or wanting to be treated like a princess, you can only treat yourself that kindly from within. The author shows through scripture how God is there and he should be your savior, we are not to put that pressure on our spouse. This book is autobiographical with the author dealing with the struggles of infidility and how easily women lose their self-esteem but can rebuild. She has some great nuggets throughout and you will especially relate if you have lost a parent or dealt with abuse or were simply raised on happily ever after, weren't we all? Highly recommended.

Dancing in the Arms of God

This book is a must read for every christian woman. It speaks to the married as well as the unmarried. I borrowed the book from a friend a few years ago and made notes of key items that I wanted to reflect on later. I review those notes from time to time and am blessed all over again. (I actually have a tab for them in my day planner.) I have recommended this book to a number of friends, who were also blessed by Ms. Neal's words. This will definitely be a stocking stuffer for this Christmas.

An Honest Look at Rebuilding Broken Relationships

Connie Neal is one of the best authors I have read. She is honest, and shows courage in this discription of what she and her husband have victoriously overcome. Issues addressed in this book, such as depression and infidelity are everyday occurances. What is NOT so day to day is the forgiveness and love that are spoken of in this awesome book. Read it, and find out for yourself how the lives of two people become even stronger. It is not by their own strength, but by a Father who steps in where they surrender.

A must read for all women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every Christian women should read this book at least once. Dancing in the arms of God is a true romance with God. I just love her correlation to the cinderella story. Don't we all want to be like cinderella, well Connie shows us that we are. Our prince is Jesus Christ.
