She's done It Again!!

Poignant and very moving.sherri Lewis writes"REAL" fiction. If you have never read anything by this author,I encourage you to purchase her work/books. What an awesome read by Sherri Lewis. This writer has a way of ministering with her stories on a level that i believe is quire endearing and unmatched.Never preachy but able to deliver her supreme message that leaves an imprint on the heart, mind and spirit, no doubt, of any reader who loves a great tale! I look forward to a sequel with the characters of Shara,Quinton,Keeva,Mark,Mother Hobbs,Pastor Kendricks, his talented and devoted wife, and the kid crew in this story...(Jamil,Shanique,Tangee,Lakita and them)SMILES & HIGH FIVES. Sherri Lewis takes us on a journey of a growing relationship between Shara and Keeva. Two young Graduate students From different sides of the tracks in life..very different and yet so undeniably able to touch and impact one another's lives. With the guidance and love of maternal figure Mother Hobbs, the characters have a spring-board of nurturance and hope that buoys their human spirit to heights they never dreamed possible.Able to explore the complexities of their own experiences, they are forced into introspection and are compelled to take the focus off of 'self',long enough to be proactive in the lives of some very impressionable teens at risk. They also demonstrate to us in the midst of their own imperfections and doubts, what it means to really make a difference to others. The capacity to which these central figures learn to give of themselves is inspiring. The ride to their destination...or should I say 'The dance'?, Is truly touching. I hated to leave these characters.they were somulti-layered, so human. you will find that their humor, wit, frailties and strengths, remind you of yourself and those you may dislike as well as love. You will walk away from this read with a new respect for public service. Ms.Lewis has the ability to open your mind your heart and your spirit to possibilities that lie within us all.Sherri's capacity to make you say "ahh"--"aww man"--"Oh no she didn't"--"Mmmm"--"Way to go!" is a given. This woman is 'Not' afraid of her own voice thus, she allows her pen to paint broad and graphic stories of real human beings in the throes of trying to live the best life possible.I highly recommend this book.It will draw you into thee author's world, keep you turning the pages of her novels and give you food for thought as well as make you wanna dance and laugh out loud. I truly hope she has plans to pen a sequel to this totally satisying story.Brava!Much love and praise for sherri Lewis. Note: Sherri Lewis is also the author of My Sould Cries Out, and the sequel to it...which is entitled, Selling my Soul and The List. Excellent Read!!!

Sherri Lewis did another fantastic job with this book. The story was written in a way in which I could feel the emotions from the characters as if they were right here next to me. I love the Christian message that the books gives to its readers. I can't wait to read Sherri's next book.

A Sense Of Purpose

Shara Anderson and Keeva Banks are the two main characters in this book about friendship, love and letting go of the past. Keeva Banks parents have money to send her to the school that THEY want her to go to, so she can graduate to become who THEY want her to be. Keeva's boyfriend Mark is wrapped up in his own self and what Keeva can give him. He couldn't careless about what she wants. Now Keeva has reached a time in her life where she has begun to questions herself as to why she isn't doing things to make herself happy. Her unhappiness has started to affect her grades, and grad school has become a place where instead of listening to the professor, she day dreams on how to let go of her current "purposeless" life. But the big question is how and then what? Shara Anderson is doing exactly what makes her happy. Her relationship with God is a healthy one and she is also in grad school pursuing a Masters in Education. The main highlight in Shara's world is her track and tutoring programs for the less fortunate children in the area. But Shara's life is robotic and one sided...Shara often speaks of her intimate relationship with God and her satisfaction when helping others; but never speaks of her past and how that may have been the catalyst to her current situation. Yes, Shara walks the Christian walk but why is she lacking balance? Pick up this excellent book and learn how two very different young women are thrown together and how they deal with their past issues and current friendships. I liked how the author gave us a glimpse of all the characters personalities while still keeping the focus on the two main characters. Ms Lewis embraced the sub plots while she kept on point, never losing sight of the main storyline, producing a well rounded novel that had my full attention. The epilogue answered the one question I had and I finished this read with a smile. Locksie ARC Book Club Inc.

Realistic & brilliant

I have attempted to read quite a few Christian novels... only to become frustrated about how often they are unrealistic. The circumstances and actions of the characters in the novels that the authors write about are not "real people." I know it's fiction, but it helps to write about scenarios that average people experience and in a fiction setting it allow the reader to consider how the characters responded and perhaps gain some insight on how to go about dealing with those same issues in their own lives. This book is refreshingly real! Love the plot, characters, and the ending! Great author, can't wait to read more.

Preordained

Keeva Banks found herself sitting in her college counselor's office unsure of how she would bring her grades up to complete her Master's program. While Keeva half-heartedly listened to the counselor, she breathed through yet another anxiety attack that did not renew her passion for the program, or take away the sadness and emptiness that had been following her around. Instead, she went home to release the angst that took over her body by dancing, the one true love she desired to pursue for her life against her parents' wishes. It was hard for Keeva to focus on her classes while dealing with the dissatisfaction she felt concerning her life, including the boyfriend she had since college. Plans for marriage did not make things better, and the phone calls she received from Shara Anderson to begin working on a class project did not help matters much either. But there was something about Shara that seemed to bring about a calming effect for Keeva, something she had not experienced in her life before. Shara, who was unkempt in Keeva's eyes, became a trusted friend to Keeva, who appeared to have it all together in every aspect of her life. But as she got to know Shara, she found that the empty place in her life could be filled. Not with sex with her boyfriend, shopping and spending her parents' money, but the Spirit of God. As Keeva began to give her life over to the Lord, He began to change her from the inside out and helped her to realize what she was destined to do in her life. The two women who seemed unlikely to be friends helped each other along the path that God had pre-ordained for them both, becoming an encouragement and blessing to one another. Dance into Destiny is a wonderful read that takes us through the journey of Keeva's path to salvation, and Shara coming into what God had showed her for her life. This fictional story allows us to see that nothing happens in our lives that God does not know about, and how through these events, there is a path that has already been planned for us by the Almighty. I recommend this book to those who are struggling to accept the call on their lives, or feel they are falling short of what God has for them to do. Reviewed by Sharel E. Gordon-Love APOOO BookClub
