Coker holds a master's degree in Social work and a doctorate in Education from the University of Connecticut (UCONN).She is a retired school administrator, a preacher, teacher, and a motivational speaker.Coker is the wife of Tom Coker to whom she has been married for 40 years. They have two adult children. She is also a grandmother.
