The medidations in this devotional book are not limited to the year it was published. A significant section of my library contains Daily Guideposts from previous years which continue to refresh, encourage, inspire, and motive. The theme the sixty writers in this edition address is "Great is Thy faithfulness." Elizabeth Sherrill starts the year by talking about minuscule beginnings and "the habit of looking each day for faith-builders so small they're easy to miss." Roberta Messner describes her uncle Pat doing "secret acts of kindness--many bestowed on people who couldn't do anything for him in return." Carol Kuykendall prayers, "Lord, help me to see what doesn't matter, which will help me know what matters most." And Kenneth Chafin concludes the year with a thought and a prayer, "After all, the One Who wrote the Book knows the end of the story. Father, let me face life's decisions with confidence in Your providential care."
Thoughtful meditations

I have been using this devotional book for many years. The writers come from many walks of life, but always have a good point to make. I like reading about the person who wrote the devotional as well. Each year is of the same quality. I am a retired librarian from the local college, and a former church librarian.
a great start to the day

I have used various devotional books in the past and decided to try Guideposts because I have always loved the magazine. My copy just arrived a few days ago, and already I love it! It is brief, but thought provoking, and a wonderful way to start my day. Highly recommended to all who have a busy day ahead without a lot of time for a long devotion.
