Spoke to me, for me, and I recommend it heavily now

As a father, husband, and Iraq war veteran who was coming to my own questions and conclusions about how to explain things to my kids, I knew I was against the grain… and then I stumbled on this book one night. I have bought it, read it, highlighted and underlined and noted all through it, and shared it with my (excellent) VA counselor. Now I recommend it to you, if you’re a husband, a parent, a veteran, or healing from any of those, read this. We won’t agree on everything, but who does? As the first praise of the book included in it says (from the Wall Street Journal), “Mr. O’Brien, like Hemingway, didn’t necessarily write about war as much as something larger: our shared humanity.”
