Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-Daddy Long Legs or Daddy Long Legs is a novel by Jean Webster published in 1912. The book consists of two chapters, entitled Black Wednesday and Letters from Miss Jerusha Abbott to Mr. Daddy Long Legs. Jerusha Abbot was an 18-year-old girl who lived her entire life at the John Grier Home, a very old-fashioned orphanage. She was the oldest of all orphans, and although she should have left there after her 16th birthday, she had obtained permission to stay, due to hard work taking care of the smallest children and endless chores. A "Black Wednesday" (as Jerusalem called the first Wednesday of each month, when the wealthy Trustees who supported the orphanage financially came to visit), at the end of the day, the director of the Home asked to speak to Jerusalem. On her way to the office, the protagonist could see the shadow of one of the Trustees, who was already about to leave. In her shadow, the legs were projected so long, she thought it was a true "Daddy Long-Legs", a common name given in English to certain long-legged spiders. Already with the director, Jerusha received the news: the Trustee he had just seen had decided to send her to the University to become a writer.
