This book is dedicated to those who served in D Troop from 1966 -1971 while the unit was in Vietnam. These are just a few of the stories written by the men who were actually there. Hopefully, this book will encourage many more D Troopers to come forward and write their stories and stay in touch with each other. Helicopter warfare began in the Vietnam War and was a major aspect of it. The D Troop writers in this book were pilots and crews of the three main types of helicopters used throughout Vietnam, from the beginning of the war to its end. In addition to the aviation troopers, our writers were D Troop's infantry soldiers, and troopers from headquarters, administration, supply, operations, and maintenance.
