Photographer Patty Sovic and author Carma Gagne Chan have been friends since 1983 when they met while working at Vidal Sassoon in Chatsworth, California. Patty and Carma share a special bond as nature lovers and gentle, intelligent women. They are truly soul sisters.

Most of the photographs in this book were taken by Patty. She lives in northern California near a marsh, beaches and redwood forest, and her camera is always with her on daily walks. She has a gift for capturing amazing shots. Her success as a photographer is motivated by her passion for wildlife combined with patience, persistence, and years of practice. This book is dedicated to Patty.
